Answers:

How do I set up WELL Webmail?

You don't need to set it up. When you log into WELL Webmail, it is ready to remove your mail from mail.well.com and display it for you.

How do I download my mail to Webmail?

Select Fetch New Mail in the top toolbar. Click the Fetch Mail button. Webmail will produce a log as it collects your mail from The WELL's mail server.

If you have one message to collect the log will look like this:
Opening IMAP server
Opening POP server
Login OK: Inbox contains [1] messages
Fetching UIDL...
Deleting messages from server...
Fetching message 1
Message appended to mailbox
Message 1 deleted from Remote Server!
Closing POP
Logging out from IMAP
Saving UIDL
Done

Click Inbox in the left-frame to refresh your Inbox and show you your new mail.

If you want Webmail to automatically download your WELL mail without you asking it to fetch new mail, select Options, Simple POP3 Fetch Mail and activate automatic downloads for mail.well.com, either on login, folder refresh, or both.

Will my SpamAssassin settings still work with Webmail?

The customizations you have made on the Spam Utility page apply to WELL Webmail just as they apply to mail you read with Pine or with a POP mail program like Eudora or Mozilla Mail. Webmail will place (SPAM?)-tagged mail in your Junkmail folder.

Does WELL Webmail remove all my mail from The WELL's mail server?

Yes. You can change this setting by choosing Options from the top toolbar, and going to the Simple POP3 Fetch Mail section. Select mail.well.com from the "Modify Server" drop box, and click the "Modify" button. Then, remove the checks from the "Check mail during login" and "Check mail during folder refresh" check boxes, and click the "Modify Server" button.

Be sure that at least one of your mail programs is set to delete mail from the server. If you leave mail on the server, the only way you can delete it is with a different mail program.

Can I move my mail from WELL Webmail to my home computer?

If you have mail in Webmail that you would like to move to your home computer, you can set your POP mail program to pick up that mail from webmail.well.com. Mail to be picked up this way must be in the INBOX folder in Webmail.

Do not set a POP mail program to download mail from WELL Webmail automatically.

Do I have to pay storage on the mail I keep on WELL Webmail?

Mail that is stored in Webmail will be included in the disk usage charges for your WELL account. You can see all your WELL disk usage in the lower part of the left frame on WELL Webmail.
